About Glenn LaRock, LCSW (Idaho), LICSW (Vermont), LCSW-C (Maryland):
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about helping people tell their stories and re-author their narratives. Together, we can work to make peace with the past, embrace the present, and step confidently toward becoming the best version of yourself. I believe therapy is most effective when it blends different approaches, which is why I take an eclectic, personalized approach tailored to your unique needs. At the heart of my practice is creating a welcoming, nonjudgmental space—a place where you can be fully you. This is your safe space to share, explore, and grow.
Some of the areas I specialize in include anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, medical trauma, cancer/chronic illness, anger management, men’s issues, LGBTQIA+ topics, sexuality, self-esteem, body image, and sexual health and wellness. Whether you’re looking for healing, clarity, or personal growth, I’m here to walk this journey with you.
While I bring therapeutic expertise, you are the expert on your life. Think of me as a guide as we navigate life’s emotional wilderness together. Let’s collaborate to uncover your strengths, build resilience, and create a life that reflects your values and aspirations!
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. You’ll often find me in the yard gardening, chasing after the dogs, feeding the chickens, or watching koi swim in our small pond. I haven’t seen Bigfoot yet, but Boise has so many great restaurants, live entertainment, outdoor activities, and seasonal events that you never know where he might be lurking, and I never get bored. I grew up in Vermont and currently live in Idaho. I love supporting people in such diverse rural communities.

Compassion
I am not just a “paid friend.” I really care about every person who walks through my door. I want to know how you learn and communicate best. I try my best to tailor sessions to your needs. I take the Client-Centered approach very seriously, and this helps create a psychologically safe holding environment.
No issue should feel too big, too small, or too embarrassing to explore. Anxiety and depression are collective concerns for society in general today. Simply living regularly exposes us to traumatic events.
Stress is normal and we all find ways to manage it. Sometimes the methods are constructive and sometimes they are destructive. Compassionate understanding helps open the door to change.
Respect
A good therapeutic relationship begins with respect. I treat everyone with positive regard and always assume positive intent. This lays the foundation for a judgement-free, safe space.
Your privacy is of the utmost importance to me. I abide by Federal HIPPA standards and regulations, and I believe in complete transparency when it comes to your care. We will partner to create goals of care, and I promise to share my thought process around diagnoses and documentation.
